Course Description: AI is quickly becoming part of what clients and organisations expect from project professionals.
The technology is moving fast. New tools arrive every month, each appearing more capable than the last. It can be difficult to determine which developments genuinely matter, which tasks AI can support—and which responsibilities must remain firmly with you.
As a project professional, you may be left to make these decisions yourself, sometimes without a clear company AI policy. Yet you remain accountable for every analysis, recommendation, status report and decision presented to the steering committee.
So how do you use AI without losing control?
This practical half-day masterclass moves beyond generic prompts and impressive demonstrations. It shows you how AI can support project delivery from initiation through to closure, how to create repeatable AI-supported workflows and how to establish sensible governance around the use of data and AI-generated content.
You will see current tools working with realistic programme and project material. You will also explore the emerging agentic future—a world in which AI agents do not simply answer questions but complete sequences of work, operate on schedules and prepare material while you are away.
The purpose is not to turn project managers into AI specialists. It is to help experienced project professionals use AI effectively, responsibly and with confidence.

How the Session Runs: This is an interactive three-and-a-half-hour masterclass built around practical examples, demonstrations and discussion.
We begin with the participants’ current experience, expectations and questions, allowing the session to be adjusted where possible. You will see AI tools and agents working with realistic project documents, data and cases—not polished examples created purely for demonstration.
Bring a laptop if you would like to follow along, test the tools and begin building your own approaches during the session.
There will be time to share experiences, challenge assumptions and discuss the opportunities and risks with other Escape project professionals.

Has more than 25 years of experience delivering large ERP and digital transformation programmes.
In recent years, he has integrated AI extensively into his own delivery work for major clients. He is the founder of the AI Project Institute and creator of The AI-Powered Project Professional masterclass. Session 2
Master Long-Term Planning and Estimation of Agile and Hybrid Projects
Course Description: Your ability to estimate and plan a project can make or break your success as a project manager.
If the world stood still during execution—and every project looked like the one before—reliable estimation would be easy. But that is rarely the reality of freelance project management. You are often brought into unfamiliar organisations, complex environments and projects already under pressure.
Many clients want the flexibility of agile delivery while their finance departments still require fixed annual budgets. Sponsors want room to adapt—while simultaneously locking down scope, cost and deadlines. And just when the plan appears stable, a risk materialises, priorities change or the budget is suddenly cut by 30%.
Meanwhile, agile teams may argue that planning beyond the next three to nine weeks creates little value. That may be true from the team’s perspective. But the customer, sponsor and steering committee still need a credible view of what the next twelve months will cost—and what the project is expected to deliver.
This practical half-day workshop shows you how to bridge that gap. You will explore how to create realistic long-term plans without pretending that uncertainty does not exist. You will learn when different estimation methods work, when they do not, and how to select an execution approach that fits the reality of your project.

How the Session Runs: This is an interactive half-day workshop combining practical instruction with immediate application.
You will see different estimation and planning methods in action and assess where each one creates value. Guided group exercises will allow you to apply the methods to cases from your current projects and compare approaches with other experienced project professionals.
The session concludes with a silent brainstorm in which you audit your existing planning habits and identify the changes you want to make when you return to work.
You will also have plenty of opportunity to exchange experiences, expand your network and learn from other Escape freelance project managers.

Jens Øster, Excelled Project Management
Project manager with extensive experience delivering complex IT projects across multiple sectors. He has successfully delivered more than 40 projects and is passionate about translating project management theory into practical results.
Jens began his career working on strictly agile projects before encountering a full-scale implementation of PRINCE2. This combination gives him a particularly useful perspective on how traditional and agile methods can work together—allowing project managers to use the best of both worlds rather than becoming trapped by one methodology.
