Our trainer is Paul Ovington from the UK, who is also an Escape Company member. This informal and entertaining session gets deeper insights into Paul’s mission to boost the high-tech economy and to develop the next generation of “Super Project Managers”.
Super Project Managers are capable of handling the most complex of systems development and the most complex project situations. They can deal with difficult customers and communicate with high efficiency and impact. They are strategic in their thinking. They are excellent leaders of a development team.
For upskilling project managers in a structured and systematic way, Paul has devised an 8-part framework called a skills framework.
The difference from conventional training is that the emphasis is on:
Applied – to high-tech development
Advanced – beyond conventional training
Augmented – to what you will have already learned
The 8 components of the framework are the “difference that makes the difference”, when it comes to project management capabilities and skills. We are looking to give you high-performance capabilities, that results in speed, efficiency, effectiveness and impact when you take on a new project.
Paul gives a high-level view of each of the critical skill areas, also weaving in some quick wins, or “hacks”, which can be used immediately on the attendees’ projects. We will also have some challenging exercises to test your learning and application.
The challenges of freelance consultants are comprehensively understood. Paul himself has been a freelance project manager for over 20 years, working in the most challenging of circumstances. We will have also held 6 Escape workshops, so the shape and form of the training is well-adjusted and optimised for Escape needs. We will also discuss:
How the Escape training emphasis has evolved
Campus as a learning platform
Parachuting into new projects – the challenges and solutions
Project diagnosis as a basis of rapid situational analysis
The needs of Escape project professionals – let’s discuss!
Background education is an increasingly strong aspect of Escape’s ethos, allowing Escape project professionals to offer greater value and differentiation.
